ICE CRICKET 3.0

POST EVENT REPORT

May 28, Chitrakoot Turf; Andheri: This year’s annual ICE Cricket 3.0 began with excitement and cheers among the participating teams and the organizing committee. The friendly looks and competitive edge increased the confidence of all players providing the right team spirit for the days following games.

The Cricket tournament initiative was an idea of ICE to pave a way for strong connections & friendly relations among the Hardware and Surfacing fraternity. It was the Director of ICE- Praveen Hingad’s foresight, to include a sporting event as a part of this bonding session and what better than Cricket, a sport that is known and close to us all. It created just the right amount of informal setting, that provided all present on the turf to know each other than mere work relations.

The preparations for the matches started way before the set date with team owners carrying out practice and warm up sessions activating the sportsman spirit to perform better. The matches began at 2pm on the Chitrakoot Turf with 18 energetic teams, from hardware and surfacing each comprising of 11 bold players. There was passionate participation and total corporation from all players and the supporters group. The initial matches went on full swing until the players were diverted towards the food and refreshment section for a small break. A tug of war match was organized in the middle of cricket matches to yet again cheer the players after exhaustion of being on the field under the blazing sun.

The knockout and quarter-finals ended with Plum Challengers and Alto Riders stepping into the finals. The nail-biting finale ended on a celebration mode from the Plum Challengers who were declared as the ‘Champions of ICE 3.0’

Nonetheless, there was cheering from both sides on the field as more than victory, it was the delight and satisfaction of participation at such a fun session that made everybody’s’ day worth it. The players were most excited when the final trophy was awarded to the Plum Challengers. Their performance and attitude on the ground while defeating all the other title-holder teams was indeed worth all the appreciation. ‘Man of the Match’ trophies were presented to respective players of all matches.

The day settled on a happy note over dinner with light-hearted conversations and fun teasing among the teams.
